The Power of One


About the movie...
Set in 1930’s -1950’s of The Power of One explores the story of the young boy Peekay, born and brought up amongst the harsh and unequal environment of South Africa and living the English ways of his mother, who dies. Peekay is later sent to boarding school and sets a goal of leading the ways to a better education for all, including the Native South Africans, who are constantly discriminated against in the most brutal and violent ways.

How the movie made me feel...
The film made me realise the lack of equality that was shown during this time and that all humans deserve the rights of life including food, shelter, education, and life in general, as many deaths took place caused by the overpowering of the white race.
